Magistrates Courts could close, be available for sale

A Government review of the justice system could result in the closure of three Magistrates Courts.

Courst in Acton, Brentford and Harrow could close as part of a wide ranging review which affects over 100 buildings nationally. Following closure the buildings could be available for sale and redevelopment.

The review says that the Harrow Court buildingon Rosslyn Crescent is unsuitable, partly for security reasons, for use as a court, and that better facilities are close by in Brent. The building, owned by the Justice Department, requires maintenance, and its listed status would restrict development options.
