Bronte House plans approved

Another major housing-led regeneration scheme is approved in Brent, as the South Kilburn Neighbourhood Trust plans for new homes in Carlton Vale are approved.

The Rick Mather Architects designed scheme involves demolition of the garages adjacent to Bronte House and the construction of two seven-storey blocks containing 133 homes, of which 75 would be affordable.

Plans also include for amenity space on the roundabout adjoining Kilburn Park Road and Carlton Vale, including the removal of a pedestrian footbridge and stopping-up the western side of the roundabout.

This is the latest in a string of developments progressing in Brent, which has prompted comment that Brent is "the new Southwark".
