Crescent Club closes

A controversial club in West Kensington has closed down for financial reasons.

The Crescent Club, run by Passion Nights ltd, in North End Crescent has been linked with various different forms of anti-social behaviour, and there have been two separate stabbing incidents outside.

Residents have been complaining to the Council, but licencing laws have prevented the Council closing the club, or curtailing its less salubrious 'exotic entertainment' which has been felt by many locals to be inappropriate to the area, and encouraging of bad behaviour.

Now the club has closed, with its owners facing a winding up order on February 24.

Councillor Greg Smith, cabinet member for crime and street-scene, said: "Residents will be delighted to see the back of Passion Nights, especially as they have been calling for the company to be stripped of its licence. Right now, it seems that the fate of Passion Nights is in the lap of the gods."
