| West London votes Labour, but Conservatives win seats | |
The West London constituencies added together voted just in favour of Labour in the General Election, but the Conservatives gained several seats in the sub-region. Labour polled 38.5% of votes cast in West London, with the Conservatives getting 37.6%. The Lib Dems attracted 18.8%. However, the headlines were about lost Labour seats, with Sarah Teather taking Brent Central for the Lib Dems, Angie Bray taking Ealing Central & Acton for the Tories, while Bob Blackman (Conservative) took Tony McNulty's seat in Harrow East, and Mary Macleod (Conservative) took Ann Keen's seat in Brentford, with both the latter results possibly affected by the expenses row. |
